portable de humidifiers are small dehumidifiers which can be easily moved around. These will be light weight and may come with wheels so that it can be easily moved.

Applications of portable dehumidifiers

Typical applications are:

• Dehumidification of home and offices. Each room may have separate dehumidifiers
• To reduce humidity in small to medium cold rooms and walk in chillers. The machine may have to be moved around inside the cold room.
• Industrial warehouses in which the dehumidifiers may have to be kept at different locations around the warehouse. portable dehumidifiers of higher capacity will be useful for such applications
• De-humidification of construction areas. In various construction areas, humidity has to be reduced for comfortable working environment. High capacity, industrial portable dehumidifiers are required for such applications.

Technology used for portable de-humidifier

Generally there are two types of technology available viz. desiccant type and condensation types.

For portable applications, generally condensation types are widely used. The humidity will be converted into water which can be drained out manually or through a fixed pipe. For desiccant types, installation process is more of a permanent nature and hence even if the machine is portable, it may not be easy to take it out and install at another location. Whereas a condensation dehumidifier can be simply unplugged and installed in another location.
