How to clean and dry carpet using dehumidifiers?

Periodic cleaning of carpets is necessary in indoor conditions of all Middle East countries. This is essential for home and offices for hygienic and cleanliness reasons.

While there are cleaning machines available for cleaning the carpets the hardest part is drying of the carpets after cleaning. This is also applicable in case of water leakage in home, over flow of water from kitchen, bath room etc. thus resulting in soaked carpets. Also the wet carpet generates foul smell which will last for weeks.

How to dry carpet using dehumidifier?

A dehumidifier is basically for removing moisture from air. The dehumidifier processes wet air and converts the moisture into water. This water is collected in a tray in the dehumidifier.

In case of a soaked carpet, the air above the carpet will be very wet. Depending on the size of the room, you can use one or two dehumidifiers in the room and simply switch it ON. The dehumidifier has an inlet for wet air intake and an outlet for dry air.

The wet air around the carpet is drawn in through the inlet. This air is processed and the moisture is removed from air. The outlet air will be dry air. AS the air becomes dry, more water evaporates from the carpet and the air becomes continuously wet. The wet air is continuously processed and converted into dry air.

The water collected in the tray has to be drained out once the tray is full. If the tray is not drained, the dehumidifier will stop automatically and does not cause any harm. Alternately you can connect a small pipe to the dehumidifiers and water can be continuously drained to a nearby drainage point in a barth room or kitchen.

We can easily dry carpet of a 25 sq. meter room using a dehumidifier within approximately 12 hours.

In many houses and offices AC leakage happens and the whole carpet will be soaked. In such cases also you can use a dehumidifier.

There are various models of dehumidifiers available based on capacity. The required model is selected based on the size of the room. Of course you can use a lower capacity model for a big room, but it will take longer duration for a proper drying.

Cleaning companies can use a bigger capacity dehumidifier. Once they undertake a cleaning contract, they can use the dehumidifier overnight to dry the carpet perfectly.
