Basically there are two technology for dehumidifiers. The first one is condensation type and the 
second one is desiccant type. The condensation type converts the moisture into water and the water thus produced is drained out. In the desiccant type, there is a moisture absorbing type material fitted inside the dehumidifier. The moisture content in the air is absorbed by this material. For cold atmospheric conditions, desiccant type is preferred since condensation technology is not efficient at lower temperature levels.
